A tour of Tours

On Thursday I made the trek up to Tours to see Gwenaëlle.  I was excited that we could actually go outside and walk around because...it was sunny!  Quelle surprise! 

One of the things we saw was the cathedral, and I learned something - if you want to see a cathedral looking especially dramatic and gorgeous, go at sunset.

I know it wouldn't be appropriate in a church, but Phantom of the Opera would sound bitchin' on an organ like this...

We even held it up.

On Friday we got the best gaufres ever.  A gaufre is a Belgian waffle that tastes like heaven already, and when you spread it with warm Nutella, man oh man.  I've had gaufres before (and since.  Keep in mind I'm writing this on Sunday about Friday, so you can see what that says about my French eating habits) but that was the best one I've ever had.

She's this excited for good reason.

We also saw this movie, which I absolutely loved.  It was a musical in the style of Mamma Mia or Moulin Rouge, which is to say that they used pre-existing famous songs.  It was really good, and now I can pretend to know super famous French songs like I've had culture all along.
