A French flash mob?!

So!  Here's what I did this weekend.

Friday night I went out to dinner with the British stagaire that I randomly met at the train station who happens to live at the foyer, and two other stagaires she knows.  We had Indian food and it was actually spicy enough, and delicious.  Thus, I have discovered too late the trick for finding spicy food here: find a genuine Indian restaurant.
In other news, I really hope to come back to the States with a British accent.  Stay tuned.
Lauren, my British slang tutor, with her friends Jules and Becky.  And me, the token American.

Saturday I went to Bordeaux again for something to do.  I'd already seen most of Bordeaux when I went with Lauren in December, but it was a gorgeous day and I couldn't bear the thought of spending it indoors.
Place de la Bourse looks really different in Spring; they have a few inches of water here that you can play in.

Flowers!

SPECULOOS LATTE.
It's a mystery as to why this hasn't caught on here.
I got to the train station about a half an hour before my return, and was standing around waiting for the board to announce my platform when people started singing Oh Happy Day.  It was like a flash mob!  I managed to get my camera out and took a video of about the last half of it.  It was so cool!

Sunday was the perfect storm of (a) it being a Sunday and (b) it's raining.  The combination of these two things over the course of my time here has caused me to watch an almost unbelievable amount of TV shows, and read an equally unbelievable number of books.  At least I'll be all caught up on my leisure activities, since I know there will be precious little time for that in Vet School!

I had a very cute moment with the kids today, too.  At lunch a little CP student was asking me to count with her, and the rest of the kids at my table started counting almost right away, and it spread until the entire cafeteria was counting along with us in English.  Adorable!
