Write properly, American!

Today I had written a few sentences on the blackboard.  A student asked, "teacher, should we copy that down into our notebooks?"  And the teacher replied, "yes, but first I'm going to rewrite it or else you'll end up writing like Megan."  Um...thanks?  Apparently our heathen American print is unacceptable.  However, after seeing their handwriting, it's impossible to be insulted.  Even the children have handwriting that looks like it was lifted straight out of a letter that the Marquise wrote the Vicomte in the 18th century.

It's very fancy, is what I'm getting at.
So that nobody gets the wrong idea, I should probably mention that this teacher is extremely nice and helpful, and I love working with her.  I actually found that comment hilarious.  I can count on one hand the amount of Americans I know who write in script like that, and none of them are children.

  1. What is with their perfect handwriting? I'm put to shame-- literally embarrassed-- every time I have to write something on the board. I find myself apologizing for it constantly.
