Paris!

I'm a little behind in blogging.  Whoopsies.  A lot has happened but I'm going to go in order here!

Without further ado, a photo essay of Lauren and my trip to Paris.  To fully appreciate it, I should share with my readers that it was incredibly cold

Notre Dame de Paris.  I was not allowed to sing any songs from any version of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in French or English.  Tant pis.

The amazing rose window!

A long shot up the nave.  (The art history nerd in me was totally geeking out.  Feel lucky that I didn't post all my pictures of pretty much every single stained glass window or interesting architectural feature.)

Gargoyles!

L'arc de Triomphe

We are freezing!

So my favorite lights display was on a Sephora on the Champs Elysées.  So sue me, I like cherry blossoms.

The Eiffel Tower!  It took us two tries to see it because of the fog.

This was supposed to be a serious shot...

The Louvre!  I waited outside in the cold with Daphne, then Lauren repaid the favor for me at the Musée d'Orsay.

One thing I found absolutely mystifying was at the Eiffel Tower, there were a bunch of guys hawking cheap souvenirs.  (No, that's not the weird part, stick with me.)  They'd follow you around relentlessly, "five for a Euro!  Ten for a Euro!"  As we kept saying no, their parting shot was sometimes, "Lady Gaga!"  Um, what?  Is that supposed to be some sort of secret password to get Americans to buy cheap crap?  One guy said it very sadly as I walked away, like "...Lady Gaga?"  It was hilarious.

Pepe le Pew made his first appearance as well!

He really liked the Eiffel Tower.
I will leave you with this parting thought:
"Get off the metro, Lauren.  Get off the metro, LAUREN!"
